South Shore Community Church is a non-denominational Christian church with a heart for our local community. South Shore is filled with ordinary people whose lives are being changed by Christ.

The Drug Court program seeks to break that cycle between drugs and crime, reduce drug abuse and related criminal behavior, and reduce the spread of substance abuse related disease.

The Salvation Army Sarasota’s Life Recovery programs provides individualized, life-saving services to adult women and men in Sarasota County who are homeless, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or are incarcerated. 

NA is a group recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using.

If you or someone you know is in need of substance abuse and/or mental health services, Florida DCF can help you locate available programs. We also offer many other services to help children and families.

Sarasota County Area Transit maintains 38 fixed-line bus routes plus a dial-a-ride para-transit service. The majority of the routes operate from Monday through Saturday with select service on Sundays.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find freedom from the issues controlling your life.

We can't arrest our way out of serious addiction issues. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is committed to placing a priority on education and sharing information on available addiction recovery resources.

First Step has a 30-bed medically-supervised detoxification unit. We emphasize good nutrition and vitamins, links to self-help support groups, and planning for continuing care.

Alcoholics Anonymous membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. There are no age or education requirements. Find meetings here.

If you are a survivor of domestic or sexual violence, you are not alone. SPARCC provides free and confidential services. Call 941-365-1976 to speak with a trained advocate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Sarasota has many wonderful food pantries and others services provided by the United Way 211.  Services are free and confidential. Get food stamps info and a list of food pantries here.

We offer services on a sliding fee scale to eligible individuals. The cost of a service depends on your ability to pay. There is no cost associated with some services. Other services require you to pay if you have the ability.

The Women’s Resource Center is dedicated to providing counseling, training and direction to women of all generations by encouraging, educating, enriching and empowering them through life’s transitions.

ACA is a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition support group focused on the behaviors and attitudes we developed growing up in an alcoholic or dysfunctional environment. These patterns continue to affect us today.
