Who We Are

Located in sunny Sarasota, Florida, our sober living homes provide dignity, support, and structure. We take pride in offering a safe environment that meets and exceeds state-accredited standards of care. Above all, our transitional homes give individuals a renewed sense of purpose and the opportunity to live their best lives.

Our History

In 2012, Purpose House opened its first men’s home. Many residents had just completed a three-month treatment program at the Salvation Army Center for Hope in Sarasota. After struggling to find work, Purpose House offered them a safe space to continue their recovery, gain employment, and rebuild their lives.

Our unique blend of 12-Step recovery, faith, and a sense of purpose allowed our residents to thrive. Within our first year, we added four more men’s transitional homes. In 2014, we opened our first sober living home for women. Today, we operate nine homes in welcoming neighborhoods, conveniently located near downtown and public transportation. Read more...

Our Team

Each Purpose House recovery residence is supported by a House Leader. These men and women have a strong recovery program. They participate in ongoing leadership training and education, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to guide and support our residents. Purpose House Transitional Homes are certified Level II recovery residences by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences. Read more...

At Purpose House, many residents share similar struggles and circumstances, creating an environment of mutual support and accountability—essential in early recovery. Meetings play a significant role at Purpose House. On Tuesday nights, our house leaders gather for support and training sessions. On Thursdays, we host All-House meetings to celebrate milestones and reinforce recovery.

On Sunday evenings, all our residents attend Celebrate Recovery Sarasota, a faith-based 12-Step program designed to help individuals overcome hurts, hang-ups, and habits. With diverse topics, worship bands, guest speakers, and more, Celebrate Recovery brings Sarasota’s recovery community together and strengthens the bonds that encourage new beginnings.
